Your home is your castle, right? It was until June 23, 2005. That’s the day the Supreme Court gave local government broad powers for eminent domain anytime your home is needed for “economic development.” Particularly disturbing is that the Virginia Supreme Court has the same issue before it now, and may need to bow to the U.S. Supreme Court decision.
